My name is Atizuyo Vicky, and I'm 25 years old. I live in Arua, in the northern part of Uganda, and am a graduate from Gulu University.
I grew up with a Christian background, however, Christianity had lost it's relevance for me and prayer became something that I often avoided for what seemed like more exciting opportunities. I used the excuse that I studied on weekends but actually I liked clubbing, so much so, that I knew all the clubs in Gulu town. I would dance from 9:00pm to 6:00am.
In my third year at Gulu University, a university friend invited me to try Alpha. I decided to go, and through listening to the Alpha talks and the discussion afterwards, I began to realize who I really was - not just the person I've known myself to be, but how Jesus sees me too. Something amazing happened to me during this time, a weight was lifted from me, and I decided that I wanted to have a deep and personal relationship with God.
Ironically, the church services I used to dodge became my favourite place to be, I found life and joy here that I had been searching for in other places.
